Government moves to create lead cyber security agency

The Government is creating a lead operational cyber security agency to enhance Aotearoa New Zealand’s ability to tackle emerging cyber security challenges and provide joined-up, customer-centric services for New Zealanders.

The functions of New Zealand’s Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT NZ(external link)) will be integrated with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) within the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB(external link)), announced Minister for the Public Service Andrew Little and Minister for the Digital Economy Ginny Andersen.
