Deputy Director-General of the National Cyber Security Centre, Catriona Robinson, recently spoke at Cyber Summit Korea 2026 (16-18 September 2026), one of the Asia-Pacific region’s leading cyber security forums.
The summit brought together global cybersecurity experts, policymakers, intelligence leaders, and industry representatives from 31 countries to discuss some of the most pressing issues facing the international cyber security community. Discussions centred on three key themes: security and trust in emerging technologies, international strategy and cooperation, and evolving cybersecurity policy and threat trends.
During her address, Ms Robinson provided insights into New Zealand’s current cyber threat landscape, reflecting on key themes and trends observed over the past year. Ms Robinson also explored the impact of shifting geopolitical dynamics on New Zealand’s security environment. Looking ahead, she discussed both the opportunities and risks presented by the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence.
