Wiki Haumaru ā-Ipurangi Cyber Smart Week

Cyber Smart Week is our annual campaign that focuses on raising the importance of cyber security and encouraging everyday New Zealanders and organisations to be more secure and resilient online.

Cyber Smart Week takes place every October and has a strong focus on encouraging New Zealanders and organisations to adopt strong cyber behaviours. Now in its ninth year, this programme is led through our Own Your Online communications platform and has amassed a huge number of passionate organisations and community groups who choose to help support and champion the week with us.

Cyber Smart Week 2024 – The Scamathon

Scammers count on our kindness. It’s their way into our hearts … and our bank accounts. For Cyber Smart Week 2024, we encouraged Kiwi to stop ‘donating’ to The Scamathon by turning on two-factor authentication and by using long, strong and unique passwords.

Cyber Smart Week 2023 - EXPOSED

The EXPOSED campaign aimed to raise the importance of being secure online by showing what’s at stake when we don’t get cyber security right.

EXPOSED presented stories of New Zealanders who have been targeted by attackers while going about their lives. They wanted to share their stories to encourage New Zealanders to go from exposed to secure online.
